Peter’s fundraiser for Turkish Earthquake relief

Here is my idea: I will match up to $250 of all funds raised at this performance if you are willing to support me and the thousands of people that have lost everything in the recent Turkish earthquakes. My goal is to raise $500 minimum, can you help?! ❤️

Through my residency of performing a solo electric cello set every month at The Sugar Maple in Bayview, I only find it necessary to do what I can do to help others in times of need through this musical platform. Last year, we raised $850 for UNICEF to help victims of the war in Ukraine! I’ve spoken to friends living in Istanbul and they have assured me that donating financially is the greatest need earthquake relief has currently. They are STILL searching for survivors…

We at Turkish Philanthropy Funds are devastated by the aftermath of the two back-to-back earthquakes that struck Southeastern Türkiye with magnitudes of 7.8 and 7.5 on February 6th. Our thoughts are with the injured and the families of the victims. We extend our deepest condolences to all families who lost their loved ones and homes.

Since the early morning of February 6th, we have been in contact with our partners on the ground, analyzing the need. With the Türkiye Earthquake Relief Fund, we started by allocating funds for immediate relief to survivors through our partners’ rescue efforts. We will continue to provide long-term assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.

100% of your donations to this fund will support TPF’s Türkiye Earthquake Relief Fund and recovery efforts. We monitor the impact on affected communities and work with Afet Platformu to allocate funds to where they’re needed most. Initially, the fund helps first responders meet survivors’ immediate needs for food, fuel, clean water, medicine, and shelter. As needs evolve, we will support longer-term recovery and rebuilding efforts run by local, vetted partner organizations in the impacted area(s).

How Your Donation Will Be Used
When you donate to TPF’s Türkiye Earthquake Relief Fund, 100% of your donation will be used to:
*Provide food and emergency medical supplies to people and animals
*Support temporary relief and emergency supplies for displaced families
*Provide support to front-line workers, like volunteers of our partner organizations
*Provide psycho-social and mental health support to survivors
*Support economic relief efforts
*Support long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts
